OUR SERVICES

HOW WE WORK

Our therapists use a unique manual therapy system designed for the proactive and reactive care of the body. This integrated system utilises knowledge and techniques across multiple modalities such as Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Massage and Acupuncture and uniting these concepts to provide a highly effective and comprehensive care for the musculoskeletal system.

OUR MAIN SERVICES

  • Chiropractic care is often perceived to be associated with the spine and back pain only. However, it is a holistic effective non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the whole musculoskeletal system and sporting injuries.

Our Sports Chiropractors are specialists in the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions. At MSK Therapy, our chiropractors use a combination of modalities including soft-tissue therapy, dry needling, spinal manipulative therapy, rehabilitation and Active Release Techniques (A.R.T). Where necessary we refer and co-manage with other allied health and medical practitioners to unsure that our patients receive optimal care and return to normal activity as quickly as possible.

  • Our physiotherapists are experts in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions that impact movement and function. Through the use of hands on therapy and exercise prescription, our physiotherapists assist in the treatment of any condition which affects muscles, joints or nerves in order to minimise pain, restore function, improve mobility and increase strength. Our practitioners utilise the latest evidence-based treatments in order to facilitate the patient’s return to sport, work or everyday activities in a sustainable manner.

OUR ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  • MSK Therapy offers return to work services for patients under the Worker’s Compensation and CTP schemes. Our practitioners are Work Cover Accredited (SIRA accredited) and have a high level of experience in dealing with all types of worker’s compensation claims. We understand how an injury can really impact on your career and your ability to provide for your family. The goal at MSK Therapy is to provide a safe, timely and sustainable return to work and back to your normal daily routines again.

  • A state-of-the-art soft tissue release system which is based on movement and massage used in the treatment of muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.

Overused muscles and soft tissues produce hard, dense scar tissue, binding down the tissues that need to move freely. As the scar tissue forms, the muscles become shorter and dysfunctional. Additionally, the tension in the tendon causes tendonitis, trapping nerves. All of these factors have an adverse effect on the body, resulting in a reduced range of motion, loss of strength and pain. If a nerve is trapped it may lead to symptoms such as burning tingling, numbness and weakness.

    Other conditions that A.R.T treat:
    • Headaches
    • Neck and Back pain
    • Shoulder injuries
    • Tennis elbow
    • Sciatica
    • Knee pain and injuries
    • Shin splints
    • Plantar fasciitis
  • The most comprehensive movement based diagnostic system used to classify movement patterns and direct manual therapy and therapeutic exercise interventions. This system allows for accurate diagnosis of the cause of pain, not just the source by logically breaking down dysfunctional movement patterns.

  • Utilising scientific research, FRC aims to improve mobility which is defined as strength and control in order to expand upon usable ranges of motion, articular resilience, load-bearing capacity and overall joint health. This system serves to help in all areas of training from prehab, rehab and return to sport.

  • Is an effective and efficient technique used to treat muscular pain and dysfunction. It is extremely effective for relaxing overactive muscles containing an abundance of trigger points. At MSK we emphasise the importance of specificity and intent when applying all our treatments which are tailored to each and every individual to provide the best outcomes.

  • By assessing alignment and articulation of your joints and spine we can determine the relationship your body has with gravity and the daily demands you may impose on your body. By knowing your body you can determine how to minimise the stresses applied which can often be the cause of your recurrent or nagging injuries.

  • The application of tape either rigid or kinesiology can benefit a wide variety of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Taping can provide stability, improve muscle activity, prevent injury and allow a quicker return to sport.

  • The study of locomotion and the alignment of your hips, knees and feet. By assessing dynamic motion and coordination.

  • The alignment and control of your feet are vital in all your basic daily activities. Orthotics can help mould and train your feet to get them to where they need to be.
